Terms of Service
1 · Who these terms are with
These terms are an agreement between you and Sage of War LLC, a Texas limited liability company.
“You” means one individual person. The account is personal to that individual. You may hold and ask about as many Rise of Kingdoms accounts as you like — a main plus several farms is the normal case, not an exception — but the account and its credits belong to one person, not to a household, an alliance or a group.
By creating an account or making a purchase, you agree to them.
2 · What the service is
Sage of War is an advisory service for Rise of Kingdoms. You tell us about your account and your situation; we give you analysis, recommendations and the reasoning behind them.
We give advice. We never touch your game account. We will not ask for your game password, we do not log in as you, and we do not automate any part of playing the game. If you are ever asked for your Rise of Kingdoms password by something claiming to be us, it is not us.
Our answers are advice, not guarantees. The game changes, and information about it can go out of date. Where we are not confident, we say so rather than guess — that is a design property of the product, not a disclaimer we are hiding behind.
3 · Independence from Lilith Games
Sage of War is an independent product. It is not made by, endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Lilith Games or the publishers of Rise of Kingdoms.
Rise of Kingdoms and all related names, marks and imagery are the property of their respective owners. We refer to them only to describe the game we help you play.
4 · Eligibility
You must be 13 or older to create an account.
We ask for your date of birth once, to check eligibility. We do not store it — we store only that the check passed and when (see the Privacy Policy §4).
If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
5 · Your account
Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@sageofwar.com if you think someone else has access.
You can delete your account at any time. What happens to your data is set out in the Privacy Policy §5. What happens to any credits is set out in §6 below.
6 · Your plan’s reads and Top-Up Credits
This section is the authoritative definition of your plan’s allowance and of Top-Up Credits. Where any other document of ours describes them, this section governs.
Your plan’s allowance. Your plan includes a number of full reads each day and a number of deep reads each month. Daily reads renew at 00:00 UTC; deep reads renew at the start of each calendar month (UTC). Unused reads don’t roll over — you are renting capacity for a day or a month, not building a balance.
Top-Up Credits are one-off purchases, offered when they’re available. One Top-Up Credit pays for one full or short answer. A lookup uses no credit. Top-Up Credits never pay for a deep read; deep reads come only from your plan’s monthly deep reads. Top-Up Credits do not expire, and they stay yours if your subscription lapses or you cancel.
Which is used first: your plan’s reads are used first. Top-Up Credits are used only once your plan’s reads for that day, or that month, are used up.
Top-Up Credits are not currency, not transferable, and not exchangeable for cash. They belong to you, not to any one Rise of Kingdoms account.
We do not close accounts for inactivity. There is no dormancy period after which a Top-Up balance lapses.
6b · What an answer uses, and why what you see is what you pay
Before an answer runs, you can see what it will use:
- a lookup uses nothing;
- a full or short answer uses one of your plan’s daily full reads, or one Top-Up Credit once those are used;
- a deep read uses one of your plan’s monthly deep reads, and never Top-Up Credits.
What we show you is a ceiling, not an estimate. If an answer would use more than shown, it doesn’t run and quietly take the difference — it stops and asks you first. We never take more than we showed. Ever.
Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Payment is handled by our merchant of record, Stripe's affiliate Sold through Link, LLC, which is the legal seller of every purchase and handles it under its own buyer terms.
If you delete your account, your unused Top-Up Credits are forfeited. If you have a balance and want it refunded, ask before you delete. Cancelling your subscription is not deleting your account: cancellation ends your plan’s allowance; your account and any Top-Up Credits remain.
6a · Your subscription
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current cycle — you keep the allowance you paid for through the end of that cycle, and nothing renews after it. If we change a tier's price, we will tell you before the change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does. You cancel from the customer portal (linked from your account); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Downgrades also take effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep your current tier until then. Billing and renewal notices run through our merchant of record under its own buyer terms.
7 · Acceptable use
Don't:
- resell, sublicense or redistribute our answers as your own product;
- scrape, bulk-extract or automate access to the service;
- use the service to build a competing dataset or model;
- attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service or its limits;
- share your account with another person, or use it on their behalf. Many game accounts, yes; many people, no;
- use the service to do anything against Rise of Kingdoms' own terms — including account automation or botting, which we do not support and will not help you with.
That last one is a product boundary, not just a legal one.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things.
8 · What you give us, and what stays yours
What you enter stays yours. Your game details, screenshots and questions belong to you. You give us permission to use them to produce your answers and run the service — nothing else. We do not use your data to train general-purpose models, and we do not sell it.
What we produce is ours. The advisory answers, the underlying analysis, the site and its content are our intellectual property. You may use your answers for your own play, including sharing a screenshot with your alliance. You may not repackage them as a product.
9 · Availability
Sage of War is in Early Access. We will keep it running and improve it, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and features may change.
The free tier is real and stays whole — verified, growing, and not a trial that expires.
9a · If we wind the service down
We do not intend to. If it happens, this is what we have committed to in advance, so you are not finding out our intentions at the same time as the news.
We give you 30 days' notice before we stop, and during those 30 days you can export your data. Thirty days is the commitment, not a minimum we might beat. From the moment we give that notice:
- We stop selling Top-Up Credits immediately. We will not take your money for credits while we know the service is ending.
- Subscription allowances keep being granted to the end of every period already paid for. You get what you paid for.
- You can keep using your plan’s reads and your Top-Up Credits for the whole notice period. The notice is a deadline for buying, not for using.
At the end of the notice period, any unspent Top-Up Credits are refunded pro rata. The 30 days with spending open come first, so the refund covers what is genuinely left over, not what you were prevented from using. Your plan’s allowance is not refunded, because it is capacity for a period you were served.
If Rise of Kingdoms itself shuts down, this service has nothing left to advise on. We wind down the same way — with notice — and the same rule applies: any unspent Top-Up Credits are refunded pro rata; your plan’s allowance is not refunded.
10 · If something goes wrong
If the advisor gave you a wrong answer, tell us — the correction path is in the Refund Policy §6, and it returns the credits that answer cost. That path exists because we take accuracy seriously, and nothing in this section takes it away.
10.1 · The service is provided as-is
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY — INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY ANSWER WILL BE CORRECT OR CURRENT.
Some places do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. If you live in one, the exclusions above apply only to the extent your law allows, and any implied warranty that cannot be excluded is limited in duration to the shortest period your law permits.
This disclaimer describes our legal position, not our attitude. We correct wrong answers and return their credits (§10.4 and Refund Policy §6). A promise we make explicitly — like the correction path — is a promise; this section just means the law doesn't add unspoken ones on top.
10.2 · Your game decisions are yours
Our answers are analysis and recommendations about a game that changes. What you spend, buy, upgrade, or fight in Rise of Kingdoms is your decision. We are not responsible for in-game outcomes, in-game purchases, or in-game losses — including outcomes that follow advice we gave. We are also not responsible for actions the game's publisher takes on your game account, which is governed by your agreement with them, not with us.
10.3 · Limit on our liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; for gross negligence or willful misconduct; for death or personal injury caused by negligence; or for anything else that the law where you live does not allow to be excluded or limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected — including any non-waivable rights under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act or the consumer law of your home country. Where a court finds any part of this section unenforceable, the rest of it stands to the fullest extent the law allows.
10.4 · The floor under all of it
Whatever else this section says, if the advisor was wrong, the credits that answer cost come back (Refund Policy §6). The limitation of liability is the ceiling; that is the floor, and it always applies.
10.5 · Your responsibility to us
You agree to cover losses we suffer that arise directly from your violation of §7 (Acceptable use) or your unlawful use of the service. This is deliberately narrow: it covers misuse, not ordinary use, and it never applies to your good-faith use of the service as intended.
11 · Governing law and disputes
11.1 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you live somewhere whose law gives you protections that cannot be taken away by contract — including the right to bring proceedings in your home courts — this clause does not take them away.
11.2 · Talk to us first — required
Before either of us starts formal proceedings, we agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. Send a written description of the dispute and what you want to support@sageofwar.com; we will do the same to your account email if we have a dispute with you. We then both wait 60 days and make a genuine attempt to resolve it. Most disputes about a service like this are a refund, a correction, or a misunderstanding, and all three are faster than any court. Any statute of limitations is paused during the 60 days.
11.3 · Small claims are always available
Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court — yours or ours — if it qualifies there. Nothing in these terms blocks that.
11.4 · Everything else: Texas courts
Any dispute not resolved under §11.2 or brought under §11.3 will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and we each consent to their jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer with a non-waivable right to sue in your home courts, you keep that right (§11.1).
11.5 · No mandatory arbitration — on purpose
These terms do not contain a mandatory arbitration clause or a class-action waiver. That is a considered decision, not an omission, and the reasoning is recorded here so a future revision has to engage it rather than pasting one in:
Arbitration clauses in consumer terms have become the attack surface, not the shield. Under consumer arbitration rules the business pays the bulk of per-claim fees, and coordinated mass filings — thousands of near-identical demands at once — can generate millions in administrative fees before any claim is heard on the merits; by 2024, over 280,000 individual demands had been filed across major providers, and companies as large as Amazon abandoned and then re-engineered their arbitration clauses around exactly this. A clause designed for a company with a legal department is, for a company of one, a standing invitation to a fee-extraction campaign. Courts, by contrast, cost us nothing until someone actually sues, and a small honest service's realistic dispute profile — refunds and billing — is already handled by the merchant of record and §11.2.
Revisit trigger: if the service passes roughly 10,000 registered users or a genuine litigation threat emerges, this decision gets re-made with counsel, using then-current mass-arbitration protections (batching procedures, bellwether processes) rather than a boilerplate clause.
12 · General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force, and the unenforceable part is enforced to the maximum extent the law allows. If we don't enforce a provision, we haven't waived it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, and will tell you if we do. These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, and the Cookie Notice are the entire agreement between us about the service. We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Sections 8, 10, 11, and 12 survive account deletion.
13 · Changes
If we change these terms we will update the effective date and tell you about anything significant before it takes effect.
